Young athletes soar at PSS all school long jump event

THE long jump event in the elementary school category of the PSS All School Track & Field (Athletics) SY23-24 witnessed the spirited performances of the participating athletes at the Oleai Sports Complex on Thursday.

In the U9 boys long jump division, Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School’s Tawheed Ullah clinched the top spot with a recorded distance of 2.99m in four attempts. In second place was Mount Carmel School’s Benz Santos with 2.95m followed by Brillian Star School’s Keon Poole with 2.84m, Saipan Community School’s Cartland Winkfield with 2.73m, and William S. Reyes Elementary School’s Vyron Estella with 2.6m.

In the U9 girls long jump division, it was WSR that claimed the no. 1 spot thanks to Vinase Agulto who recorded a distance of 3.02m. In second place was GTC’s Seraphina Alvarez with 2.73m, BSS’ Aya Smith with 2.64m, SCS’ Eleanor Anderson with 2.63m, and MCS’ Miriam Flores with 2.58m.

As for the U12 age group, Saipan International School ruled both divisions.

The U12 boys long jump division was led by SIS’ Jake Duenas with a distance of 3.5m followed by Kagman Elementary School’s Blake Guinto with 3.33m, WSR’s Jaoquin Delos Santos with 3.24m, and teammates Ezikiel Camacho and James Bowie in fourth and fifth places with 3.21m and 3.02m, respectively.

In the U12 girls long jump division, SIS’ Windsor Gross led the competition with a distance of 3.39m followed by WSR’s Trisha Lisua with 3.23m, BSS’ Claire Fehrenbacker with 3.12m, SCS’ Leila Pangelinan with 3.11m, and GTC’s Emma Lang with 2.93m.
