MOUNT Carmel School JV bagged their third win in the NMIVA-PSS Girls High School Volleyball SY22-23 by defeating Agape Christian School JV, 21-17, 20-22, 15-8, Tuesday at the Marianas High School gym.
MCS JV’s Jada Chang, Jieun Kwon and Breanna Mafnas excelled with proper communication and teamwork as they covered their weakside while aiding in transitional returns with a mix of spikes and bumps to seize the lead.
But ACS JV’s Jiahui and Zixuan Chen’s precision returns forced MCS JV to commit the errors that allowed ACS JV to close in.
MCS JV, however, kept their cool and picked their shots carefully to maintain the lead and secure the opening set, 21-17.
In the second set, ACS JV stepped up to slip away with the win, 22-20, forcing a third and final set to determine the winner.
Despite ACS JV’s efforts, they failed to keep the momentum in the third set while MCS JV piled up the points to seal victory, 15-8.
