MHS, ACS continue to rise in girls high school basketball

MARIANAS High School and Agape Christian School are rising to the top in the girls high school division of the IT&E Interscholastic Basketball League after demolishing their respective opponents Friday and Saturday at the Marianas High School gym.

Against Tinian JV, MHS were simply unstoppable as each player on the court made a contribution throughout both halves.

Kalista Klaver and Marielle Lopez led the first half with four points apiece while allowing Tinian JV only one point.

While Tinian JV scored four more points in the second half, MHS  exploded with their own offensive highlights led by Mayann Chuweiluk who scored seven points en route to victory, 27-5.

For their part, ACS defeated Tinian’s varsity team, 35-23, on Friday and bested Tinian’s JV team, 39-8, on Saturday.

In the first game, ACS was led by Eunice Xu who delivered 18 points while in the second game, ACS’ Sunny Wang scored 12 points with team mate Xu contributing 11 points.
