Younger brother Conan Briggerman Iakopo has scored a total of five perfect 50-point finishes. He fell short in round 1, scoring 47 points, but he leads the PeeWee II Class.
The 9-year-old’s passion for motocross started in January of last year when he joined the initial Marianas Racing Association Points Race Series.
“I really like motocross because I enjoy riding on my bike and racing,” he said in an interview with Variety. His ability to handle the two-wheel vehicle and execute tight turns and love for high speed is his biggest strength. “I feel really good being number 1 in my class and my strategy going into the last race of the season is controlling my bike while going through the course as fast as possible,” he added.
Conan rides his reliable 50cc Husqavarna.
In the previous season, Conan recorded four 50-point finishes and placed second overall in the PeeWee I Class.
Older brother Stanley Iakopo Jr. currently leads the Mini I Class with a total of four 50-point performances.
The 11-year-old said he likes motocross “because I make new friends and fly in the air while going through jumps.”
Asked how he feels to be in the lead this year, he said, “It feels awesome and my strategy for this last race is to blast my bike while keeping it in control.”
Stanley rides a 65cc Yamaha.
In the previous season, Stanley came in third overall.
The seventh and final round of the second season will be held on Sunday, Aug. 28, at Cow Town Raceway Park.
