Ned Norita shines in Coral Ocean Golf Resort invitational

IN celebration of Coral Ocean Golf Resort’s reopening, an invitational tournament was held Thursday with Ned Norita besting 70 other participants to win first place.

He made his way through the newly reconstructed course with a strong performance, and  completed the special event with a net score of 75.

In the side events, Joey Dela Cruz took the spotlight for the longest drive at hole #18 with a distance of 380 yards while Lorraine Babauta won  the award for hole #4 with a distance of 285 yards. Dela Cruz also clinched the award for nearest the pin on hole #14.

In his remarks, E-Land/Micronesia Resort Inc. chief executive officer Brian Shin said, “A day at the golf course is always special. This is the course that all of us will get to enjoy. Most of you have a special attachment to this course so we’re so glad to be here today for the celebration of its reopening.”

He added, “Not only are we reopening the golf course, but I would like to take this opportunity to show the world that the CNMI is getting ready for the return of our tourists. Opening this course means a lot for the community. Our tourists and economy are coming back.”
