Defense is usually the main aspect of an Ol’Aces’ game but this time around, the Kagman Rollers brought the heat to a fast-paced match.
The Ol’Aces started strong with Airson Atan orchestrating the attack to score eight points. When Atan was out of the action, DK Fiden stepped up to the plate with countless rebounds and assists to maintain his team’s lead.

But the Kagman Rollers managed to stay relevant with Jamart Palmes making his presence known from behind the three-point line while team-mates Reid Teregeyo and Darren Pangelinan scored a combined 18 points to keep the Rollers in the game, 27-30.
In the second half, the Ol’Aces remained in control as Craig Padayao picked up the pace and continued to wreak havoc on the Rollers defense. He led the offensive assault with eight points and made four steals.
The Rollers, however, had an answer on the other end of the court. Teregeyo snatched a handful of rebounds and blocked three shots while team-mates Frankie Satur, Gerald Mamis and Palmes converted to wipe out the Ol’Aces’ lead.
Ol’Aces Coach Preston Basa then called a timeout. When play resumed, the Ol’Aces scored with a layup to regain the lead. The Rollers, for their part, missed a crucial shot.
With only a few seconds left on the clock, the Ol’Aces used the old stack strategy as they split up for an inbound play which went in their favor as they sealed a 43-42 victory.
