The Tatagas of TMS had a well-rounded roster with Jerome Manzon in the frontline as the attacker while Javen Camacho, Keahi Omapas, and Stone Smith provided support.
TMS was able to withstand most incoming attacks while setting up a three-touch return with Manzon finishing strong with spikes.
But the Tottots of DMS 1 weren’t pushovers as they dished out overhand serves which TMS failed to counter.
Team DMS 1 included Jaydon Faisao, Jared Borja, Noah Palacios, Ethan Sablan, Alton Rabago and Matthew Peters.
As the battle continued with a handful of exchanges, TMS obtained several chances to gain a comfortable distance. But with wind playing a huge factor, the Tatagas made a few inaccurate serves and shots. This gave DMS 1 the opportunity to strike back and extend the match past the game-point of 21.
Fortunately for the Tatagas, they stayed on their toes and formed a play for Manzon to create a spike finish and regain control.
Assisted by an error committed by DMS 1, TMS finally secured the win, 23-21.
Likewise victorious was Hopwood Middle School which vanquished DMS 2, 21-16, and Francisco M. Sablan Middle School, 21-9.
