Pacific Mini Games will comply with Covid-19 protocols, official says

THE over 1,200 athletes and sports officials arriving on island for the Pacific Mini Games 2022 will be quarantined for five days, according to NMI Pacific Mini Games 2022 chief executive officer Ben Babauta.

He said the organizing committee expects the participants to start arriving as early as June 10 so they can be out of quarantine by June 15 and attend the opening ceremony on June 17.

“Safety is the first and foremost consideration for the Pacific Mini Games so we have to adhere to the Covid-19 protocols,” he added.

As of Sept. 2021, the number of athletes that registered to attend the 2022 games was 1,200, but Babauta said this figure will be updated on Dec. 17, 2021.
