THE Public School System led by its Athletic Program Director Nick Gross will kick off several sports events for the new year next week.
These include:
• The high school boys division of the NMIBA-PSS Interscholastic Basketball League on Wednesday, Jan. 25. The participating varsity teams are Grace Christian Academy, Mount Carmel School, Agape Christian School, Saipan International School, Tinian Jr/Sr High School, Marianas High School, Rita Hocog Inos Jr/Sr High School, Kagman High School, and Saipan Southern High School.
The participating junior varsity teams are MHS JV, MCS JV, SSHS JV, KHS JV, TIN JV, RHI JV, and two MHS JV teams.
• The co-ed elementary division of the NMIVA-PSS Interscholastic Volleyball League starts on Friday, Jan. 27.
There will be three pools.
Pool A consists of Kagman Elementary School 1, William S. Reyes Elementary School 2, Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School 1, San Vicente Elementary School 2, Saipan International School 2, Oleai Elementary School 2 and Garapan Elementary School 1.
Pool B consists of Brilliant Star School, Koblerville Elementary School 1, GTC 2, WSR 1, Mount Carmel School, KAG 2, and GES 2.
Pool C consists of Saipan Community School, KOB 2, OES 1, SIN, SVS 1, SIS 1, Tinian Elementary School, and Grace Christian Academy.
• The boys middle school division of the NMIVA-PSS Interscholastic Volleyball League begins on Tuesday, Jan. 31, with 10 varsity teams and nine junior varsity teams.
Pool A consists of Tanapag Middle School, Dandan Middle School, Mount Carmel School, Saipan Community School, and Hopwood Middle School.
Pool B consists of Chacha Oceanview Middle School, Agape Christian School, Francisco Middle School, Saipan International School, and Grace Christian Academy.
In the junior varsity category, Pool A consists of HOP JV, TMS JV, GCA JV and SCS JV while Pool B consists of COVMS JV, FMS JV, DMS JV, MCS JV, and SIS JV.
• The co-ed outrigger season will begin on Saturday, Feb. 4, with five participating schools, each with a boys, girls and co-ed teams: Marianas High School, Kagman High School, Saipan Southern High School, a private school team and Da’ok Academy.
