PuesOK claimed the first ever Tinian Perpetual San Jose Fiesta CoEd BudLight softball championship over the weekend.
The only visiting team from Saipan, PuesOK, took home the perpetual trophy and the $200 cash prize.
There were other teams from Saipan that wanted to participate in the softball tournament, but due to a shortage of rooms and car rentals on Tinian, only PuesOK was able to attend.
The other participating teams were all from Tinian: the Braves, Manga’Chong, the Hustlers, the Battin Bees and Familia.
Tinian Athletics Sports Association president Jose P. Kiyoshi would like to acknowledge and thank Tinian Mayor Edwin Aldan and his wife Rosita K. Aldan for providing $650 in total cash prizes, and Marpac resident manager Guy Pudney and staff for providing the perpetual trophy, the MVP prize, 15 cases of beer and six cases of Pokka.
Kiyoshi said they will also try to host a similar tournament during Tinian’s Pika Fest next year.
