Saipan vs Guam in MRA Turkey Cross

THE Marianas Racing Association will host a special Thanksgiving event that will feature riders from Saipan and Guam.

The 2022 Turkey Cross, which is set for Nov. 26 and 27 at Cowtown Raceway Park, will highlight 2-wheel and 4-wheel fast-paced action.

“This will definitely be a chance to see where we stand against Guam,” said MRA Vice President Cuki Alvarez.

“Guam has remained active in motocross throughout the years whereas MRA ‘died’ and discontinued racing after 2009,” he added. “But we made a strong comeback in 2020 and have been consistently racing ever since. So I definitely expect a close race between the two islands and it will be very exciting to see who wins! It will be the best riders from Guam against the best riders from Saipan.”

The race classes include Peewee, Minis, ATV, Novice Open, Intermediate Open, Expert Open, ATV Big Boys, Veterans, Power Puff, along with newly added categories such as Mamas Only (mothers, grandmothers, etc.) and Legends (60 years old and over).

The racers who accumulate the most points over the two-day event will be  named winners.

Heat 1 will be held on Nov. 26, Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. while Heat 2 is set for Nov. 27, Sunday morning at 9 a.m. The banquet and awards ceremony will be held at the track at around 3 p.m.
