SHANE Alvarez leads the expert class of the 2023 Marianas Racing Association Monster Energy Points Race Series after the completion of round 6 Sunday at Cowtown Raceway Park.

It was a thrilling race as Alvarez and Dave Celis went head-to-head in both heats. Celis gained a slight edge in the first race to clinch first place, but Alvarez shined brighter the second time around to claim first-place with both racers earning 47 points.

With  one round left, Dave Celis, who has a total of 197 points, still has a chance to catch up with Alvarez, who has 229 points.

Cuki Alvarez is in overall third place with 194 points.

The rest of the standings: Ellery Cruz, 175 points; Melvin Cepeda, 134; Charles Cepeda, 99, Alverick Alvarez, 94; Patrick Togawa, 91; and Julian Salalila, 68.

Other leaders

Leading the intermediate class is Corry Pangelinan with a total of 247 points followed by Aric Cruz with 195 points; Melvin Cepeda with 186; Ethan Yumul with 178; Henry Camacho Jr with 122; and David Camacho with 67.

Leading the novice class is Vicente Palacios with a total of 250 points followed by Christian Camacho with 212 points; Frankie Sablan with 164; Matthew Guerrero with 158; Ponce Rasa with 149; and Charles Cepeda with 122.

Leading the veterans class is Dave Celis with a total of 250 points followed by Melvin Cepeda with 194 points; Cuki Alvarez with 176; Bob Ferrer with 155; Charles Cepeda with 143; Ponce Rasa with 118; Julian Salalila with 101; Ray Yumul with 88; Bryon Castro with 43; and Champi Villacanes with 40.

Leading the big boy ATV class is Christian Camacho with 50 points, followed by Henry Camacho Sr and Greg Clark, both with 42 points.

Leading the mama class is Maribel Igitol with 250 points, followed by Merissa Rasa with 172 points; Marlyn Castro with 120; and Mariana Alvarez with 44.
