SON Hyun “Sunny” won the September tournament of the CNMI Women’s Golf Association with a net score of 69 on Saturday at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort west course.
Hyun cleared the front nine with a gross of 44. On the back nine, she tweaked her swing and improved her game, shooting a gross of 41 for a total gross score of 85. With a handicap of 16, her net score was 69.
EunAe Jang also had a net score of 69 — 49 on the front nine, 44 on the back and a handicap of 24.
But based on the scorecard playoff, Hyun had a better overall performance.
Doll Yamagishi came in third place with gross scores of 43 and 47 on the front and back. With a handicap of 19, her net score was 70.
CWGA’s next monthly tournament will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort east course.
