THE TanHoldings Football Club outscored the U18 National Team B, 6-2, in Division A of the Men’s M-League Spring 2021 Tournament on Sunday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.
TanHoldings played aggressively and after nine minutes of constant offensive push, it was finally rewarded with Jacob Montes delivering the shot to give his team the lead, 1-0.
The U18 NT B players managed to adjust to the assault with better coverage on the defensive end, successfully depriving TanHoldings of any clear shots for the next 10 minutes.
However, TanHoldings’ relentless efforts eventually broke through U18 NT B’s line of defense with Joshua Mendez sinking the second goal of the day at the 20-minute mark.
U18 NT B finally found an answer three minutes later thanks to Ruben Guerrero, but at the 33-minute mark, TanHoldings scored its third goal courtesy of Martin Jambor for a 3-1 lead.
TanHoldings’ strategy continued to work well as its players weaved through U18 NT defenders with lob passes and skilled dribbling to create scoring opportunities.
At the 49-minute mark, Tan Holdings’ Mark Esalan scored his team’s fourth goal.
U18 NT B’s Oliver Fajardo delivered for his team at the 68-minute mark, but TanHoldings’ Esalan and Jambor fired back with a goal each to seal the win, 6-2.
Paire vs The One
The Paire Football Club also claimed its first win of the season by blanking The One Football Club, 5-0.
It was Eric Barajas who gave Paire the advantage as he scored all three goals of the first half. His speed and control were more than enough to slip through defenders with ease, drawing first blood at the 18th minute followed by two more at the 33rd and 39th minute marks.
Team-mate Chris Nelson then took over, scoring two goals for a 5-0 victory.
Joining the winners circle were the U18 National Team A which defeated the Kanoa Football Club 3-0, and MP United Football Club which trounced Old B Bank, 6-0.
