TINIAN Elementary School’s athletes showcased their arm strength as they ruled the U9 softball throw event of the PSS-NMA All School Athletics at the Oleai Sports Complex.
Tinian topped both the U9 boys and U9 girls softball throw.
Among the 25 students who participated in the U9 boys softball throw event, Tinian’s Crixus Nebrida claimed first place with a recorded throw of 30.47m.
Oleai Elementary School’s Eumond Peter settled for second place at 28.27m while Tinian’s Vicente Cruz came in third at 26.96m.
The rest of the top five were William S. Reyes Elementary School’s Elijah Pelisamen, 26.29m; and Saipan Community School’s Lennox Sablan, 25.43m.
In the girls division, Anita Moses of Tinian could not be matched as she recorded a throw of 19.53m to secure first place.
In second place was OES’s Maria Limes at 16.06m with Tinian filling the rest of the top five list: Milena Cepeda, 14.06m; Josie Torres, 13.88m; and Joaquina Aldan, 13.86m.
In the U12 softball throw, Koblerville Elementary School and WSR were the teams to beat.
KoES’s Ben Hossain led the U12 boys with a distance of 37.73m, edging Tinian’s Francisco Moses who recorded 37.23m to finish second. His schoolmate Niziah Dela Cruz took third place, 34.13m; Tinian’s Francisco Castro was fourth, 33.08m; and Rota Elementary School’s Aries Arriola was fifth, 32.83m.
As for the U12 girls, WSR’s Aubyguel Castro clinched the top spot with a distance of 24.87m. OES’s Gabriella Ruben was second, 23.56m; Tinian’s Kiyara Villagomez was third, 22.63m; Rota’s Krisha Aguero was fourth, 21.98m; and her schoolmate Naysha Barcinas was fifth 18.81m.
U9 girls 100m
The following are the U9 girls 100m event results:
In heat 1, Tinian’s Anta Moses claimed first place with a time of 16.87 followed by OES’s Breanne Ilo, 18.05; Tinian’s Josie Torres, 18.27; OES’s Mitchiko Lanyo, 18.52; and WSR’s Kayko Camacho, 19.03.
Heat 2 was led by KoES’s Savannah Kikku with a time of 17.54. Rota’s Nalaeya Manglona came in second, 18.1; Tinian’s Afroja Patha was third, 18.4; WSR’s Ai Nonogaki was fourth, 18.65; and WSR’s Carlisa Crisostomo was fifth, 18.92.
In Heat 3, Saipan International School’s Scarlett Burrell finished first with a time of 17.16; Naveah Arriola was second, 17.64; Marianne Eugenio was third, 18.42; OES’s Madison Rabauliman was fourth, 18.83; and KoES’s Anjelene Lucas was fifth, 20.69.
