‘Smoothen’ your senses at iSagua Spa

i Saguá Spa’s cheerful albeit shy receptionist Maria Manalo welcomed me yesterday when I dropped by to check out this new package. Maria guided me to the Deskansa, a small waiting room with lounging chairs and glass windows overlooking the Jacuzzis and the gardens outside I went out and took photos instead until my therapist Sarah Tomokane took me to the Langilang Room, a pleasant room with two massage beds, a circular bathtub and huge glass windows offering a view of the pond and gardens outside.

The Lime Smoothie package begins with a few minutes of a glorious lime flavored foot bath.

Sarah directed me to lie face down on the massage table for the 60-minute Swedish massage. After overcoming the initial battle with my ticklishness, I gave in to her ministrations, dozing in and out of a blissful state as her deft fingers worked magic and eased the tension into my tired back using a combination of long strokes with kneading, friction, vibration, and stimulating movements. The Swedish massage is designed to gently relax your muscles and improve circulation. The minutes flew fast, and Sarah left the room for a while, allowing me to savor the afterglow of the refreshing massage.

With relaxing music from an i-Pod dock on a corner table, I was fighting a losing battle against a bout of drowsiness that started to conquer me but just when I was at the verge of falling into dreamland, Sarah came back and started rubbing and massaging something warm and grainy on my legs.

A whole new soothing sensation took over. The grainy substance was Dead Sea salt, Sarah told me. She used long strokes to massage the salt grains all over my legs and arms, producing a tingly yet soothing sensation. She told me to lie on stomach and rubbed more salt on my back, nape and arms. It was like being transported from the pleasant Langilang room to a long stretch of beach where somebody is rubbing warm grains of sand on your back.

The 30-minute scrub using a home-infused lime scrub smoothes the skin, she said.

After a few minutes, I heard the blast of water from the showers and Sarah was back in the room, telling me I can take a shower. The locker room is complete with a dresser, drawers to store your personal belongings, towels, slippers and a bathrobe.

The shower room at the Langilang Room issues its own irresistible invitation. A circular brick room with smooth round pebbles on the floor. The shower room has no roof, offering you a full view of the blue clouds and skies above.

To cap off the Lime Smoothie package, Sarah brought me a refreshing glass of cold lime tonic with honey and ginger and left me to enjoy my drink.

Manalo said the Lime Smoothie is a promo iSagua is offering for the month of October.

The Lime Smoothie package is $90 per person, and $150 per couple.

“We invite everyone to come and smoothen your senses with our Lime Smoothie package for this month,” Manalo said.
