THE Truth is Juneteenth may seem frivolous, but indeed it is more important than ever given Trump is doing his best to take ALL of us back to the days of Reconstruction & Jim Crow Law dismantling our Federal Government. I know there won’t be any Juneteenth Activities or Ceremonies, as Ambrose was the last person to sponsor an event when my friend and fellow activist Dr. John Joyner was still with us and brought his famous Gumbo. I truly miss the days of African Americans getting together at the beach eating Soul Food & playing Dominos, Cards and Horseshoes. But virtually all of those people have left for Greener Pastures like everyone else who is leaving the CNMI in an effort to “Keep Hope Alive FOR their American Dream to become a reality for them & their families.” The American Dream is LOST in the CNMI and it is truly difficult and even impossible for me at times to Keep Hope Alive, as there is just one MESS-UP after another compounded by bigotry and an impotent Government. WE are only figuratively seeing “Band-Aids applied to broken limbs & dysfunctional infrastructure FOR promoting our Economy,” which is WHY MVA is trying to establish a Global Brand so WE, the CNMI, can at least be known for SOMETHING!
There were over 2,000 Protests across America in towns & cities composed of more than 5-million Americans protesting against Trump’s presidency that tells a chilling story about America, especially those voters who were gullible enough to believe Trump’s lies about almost EVERYTHING — voters were BAMBOOZLED, like WE say in my culture! Well, the same bamboozling poli-tricking has been happening to voters in the CNMI for the past decade believing and listening to the “deflecting & gaslighting” by Republicans instead of listening to a real Economist, Ambrose M. Bennett, while the CNMI’s Economy literally falls-apart right in front of our eyes — for TRUE. Ambrose has PROVEN too many times to be RIGHT — I Told You So but bigotry still looms! In fact, there are even many Chamorro/Carolinian Families now with African and/or African Americans heritage but there won’t be any Juneteenth celebrations in the CNMI. There has NEVER been an Appreciation Day for all the hard work by CWs as they are the very CORE of our workforce, No MLK Day, No Juneteenth & No Cultural Diversity Events for ALL Cultures like WE see in most of the major “diverse cities.” However, I’m sure there will be all kinds of Activities & Events happening on Juneteenth in the REAL America, as the CNMI has surely faltered in becoming like the mainland, which I’m sure was the goal for the Plebiscite to join the American Family.
Juneteenth really stands for something, that America Grew & Came of Age on that day when it comes to “Human Rights,” yet today one can see Trump is trying to destroy “Human & Legal Rights of Citizens of Color” while he favors White South Africans. Yet very little credit has been given to African Americans who did as MUCH and even MORE to build America, as a race of People who collectively represent “the faith & morals of Abraham, the Wisdom of Solomon & the Courage of David” as an oppressed People arriving as slaves yet rose to lead in ALL facets of American Politics, Economics, the Military & Social Life in America. However, Arnold has ALL of us in the Same-O Republican TRAP mainly because our Dems are LETTING him get away with his subterfuge and lack of leadership on rebuilding our Economy. Go back and listen to the SOCA and you will see WHAT you did NOT hear — a real plan to fix our Economy. Yet I have tried for over a decade to prevent exactly what WE are ALL experiencing now, “a floundering economy” but I’m an African American who DARED to take his RIGHTFUL ownership in the CNMI and DEMANDED BETTER! How DARE Ambrose, the outsider, want for something “good & better FOR the People & the CNMI” — see how foolish that sounds. But this is the TRUE thinking of toooo darn many, especially the ugliness & bigotry of my critics and #1 Fan “Saipan Man,” who can only Exaggerate & Falsely attack my character but doesn’t have a clue to fixing OUR economy-prayers for haters! But WE must try to VOTE ourselves OUT of this Economic Mess or it’s going to continue being the Same-O I keep warning about, so Keep-Hope-Alive Voters for Better in 2026!
I do want to wish Mrs. Gloria Cavanagh and her Husband the BEST as some Hotel or Business in Florida is getting one of our BEST People AGAIN and no one can blame them for leaving — ADIOS & Happy Trails! I get it, as Hope for things to get BETTER in the CNMI is like a mirage, as there is nothing real to hold on to nor hope for in the near future. I must also give a “shout-out and a Dun Kalu THANKS to my beautiful & loving wife “Lillian Marie Doll Boo Rai DLG Bennett” for the great life WE have shared over the past 40 yrs, as our first date was on Juneteenth (19th) 1985. WE must Keep-Hope-Alive CNMI, as there can be Better Days & Times which is something that can be learned from African Americans so help celebrate Juneteenth for the BETTER!
