We must hold those in power accountable

OUR nation has two major political parties to balance power. Both — the Democrats and Republicans — must uphold U.S. laws 24/7, 365 days a year. No excuses. No exceptions.

We have ethical responsibilities, rules, and regulations designed to hold those in power accountable.

The problem today is that shady, crafty, and clever politicians in both parties are trying to game the system and abuse their authority.

Both parties play the blame game and often misuse their power once in office — as we are all witnessing live on the news.

American voters are repeatedly fooled and betrayed, trapped in a voting process they cannot control.

U.S. voters and other citizens are the real victims of political corruption during every election season.

American families should bring their own well-informed ideas to the politicians they trust, to help shape better policies.

It’s vital that we’re on the same page — speaking the truth and standing up for our families as we fight for our American rights.

We, the American people, deserve better.

All the lies and misinformation today are nothing more than conflicts of interest — a cover for those who swindle millions and billions from the federal government.

When social media platforms fail to help inform the public with the truth, we suffer under a blizzard of misinformation.

Our military should never be used to harm communities. Instead, it must protect the American people and businesses from exploitation.

That’s why we have laws, lawmakers, a Constitution, and a democracy.

Our U.S. ideals and opportunities matter to us as Americans. We must honor the men and women in uniform who have sacrificed their lives to defend our freedom.

It’s ridiculous and deplorable when U.S. lawmakers fail American families out of greed and corruption — wrongdoing that should have been prevented by congressional oversight.

Our flag flies daily to remind us of the values and beliefs our military fought for in places like Saipan, Tinian, and Guam.

Our military service members and law enforcement officers should be honored — not chastised or punished — for their service to our country. They are part of our families, too.

I just don’t understand how our system has failed us. Maybe it’s because we’ve failed to do our collective part — to respect one another with humility.

The U.S. was founded by immigrants who came in search of the American dream. To single out people’s beliefs simply because we disagree is un-American.

Our families deserve better. We must honor those immigrants who came to America to follow our laws, start their businesses, and live their American dreams.

Firing inspectors general who investigate white-collar crime and government corruption is reprehensible — and un-American.

We need congressional oversight, investigations, and the enforcement of our laws.
