Soul journey

I WILL never forget Aaron Maratita Suzuki when he came to Honolulu in February of this year to fight for his life because of a life-threatening illness. He fought his illness like a real soldier with bravery and courage from the beginning to the end. He never gave up hope in his quest to live for he knew that the price of survival was a matter of life and death controlled by the Man upstairs. Unfortunately, Aaron did not make it to see his lone sister and families again back home. Before he left speechlessly he opened his eyes and looked up at his parents for the last time with tears running down his face. Then he silently closed his eyes and left on a soul journey to a place of no return with a smiling face.

Aaron is now gone to his final resting place. His parents will never forget him as a member of the family. The warrior example of what he has demonstrated should be exemplary to others back home to follow. As a son of Rota, Aaron took the risk to either live or die to save many of his fellow islanders now and in the future. His legacy and remembrance ought to be highly recognized and commended for his love of his homeland.

Now comes the time for Aaron’s parents to humbly extend their appreciation and gratitude. Thank you to the families living in Honolulu and Rota, staff/employees/physicians/nurses at Kapiolani Children Hospital, Chuukee in Honolulu, CNMI patients in Honolulu, Senate President Paul A. Manglona, Doctor Glazer, the CNMI-Guam Liaison and the CNMI-Hawaii Liaison Office.

God bless you Aaron in your final resting place. Your friend, Julian Taitano Sakisat, will always remember you in his prayers. Julian is winning his battle against his illness and will continue to do so until he’s a healthy boy again. Julian needs your spiritual and blessing support to successfully pick up the pieces where you left off and to continue forward to the finish line in great success and recovery.
