Taking a break from the traditional holiday décor of red and green, Hyatt Regency Saipan is set to surprise the community with its unconventional Christmas theme of blue and orange. The colors will surely make guests and the community look twice, which is the goal according to marketing and communications manager Bea O’Malley.
“This Christmas is extra special for the management and staff of Hyatt Regency Saipan. Everyone had been wishing for the past several years to get our lease renewed. It came true, which is why we would like to give the community a celebration that is worth remembering,” she said.
According to her, the orange represents Hyatt’s color while the blue represents the blue ocean of the Marianas. “We put them together to state that first, Hyatt is here to stay for the next 40 years or more. Put that together with the blue that represents the CNMI, it only shows how deeply committed we are to the islands and to the people,” she said.
“It is also represents how we combine the good things that we did in the past with the new things that we are planning to do to promote and help boost CNMI tourism industry. Besides, it is nice to see Santa Clause wearing something different,” she added.
For the past 40 years, Christmas tree lighting has been a tradition that Hyatt Regency Saipan shares with the community. Hyatt is always about celebrations and spending time with family and friends. The Christmas Tree lighting is open to everyone.
As a tradition, the lighting cermony always happens on December 1st regardless of what day of the week it is or how the weather is. Every year, the hotel management, its staff and their families, community members, tourists and local media gather to witness the beautiful 20-foot tall Christmas tree that stand at the lobby to spread cheer and welcome guests.
“With the CNMI under level green, meaning less COVID19 restrictions, we are able to invite the Glushko Girls Ballet to perform and delight the guests and community members who will watch the tree lighting. A champagne toast and cake will be shared to the public,” she said.
A new management team combined with the experienced staff who have been working with Hyatt for many years, O’ Malley said, “the only way is to go for Hyatt is up.”
