SEASONED Hotelier whose experience and skills were honed in-house by the Hyatt brand, Guillaume Delemarle, Hyatt Regency Saipan’s new General Manager is a true diamond that will lead the hotel to its crown of glory for the next few years.
As a general manager, Delemarle has led the hotel to operate through a pandemic which is akin to a piloting a plane out of a storm. Delemarle ensures Hyatt’s purpose of care, for people to be at their best, sharing the company’s values of empathy, integrity, respect, inclusion, experimentation and wellbeing. “We do not know when tourism will fully recover on the island, it is however our responsibility as a leader to take care of one another to overcome challenging times”, says Delemarle, “and I really enjoy the strong sense of community in Saipan; we are grateful for the people’s support over the years.”
Delemarle’s career sprouted from various positions he held while working for several luxury hotel brands, one of which was Marriot. From a Banquet Manager in 2004, with hard work and best practices in tow, he swiftly went up the career ladder to a post as a Restaurant manager in just 3 years.
Delemarle’s work experience also include being the assistant director of Food and Beverage at Grand Hyatt Cairo, as well as the Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotels and Villas. Working at the Grand Hyatt Singapore flagship hotel is also one feather on his cap where he was the executive assistant manager of the Food and Beverage division.
His most recent experience was as an Executive Assistant manager of Grand Hyatt Seoul, another of the company’s flagship hotel, where he flourished for 6 years. During that time, he was in charge of generating revenue for the hotel with a deep focus on the Food and Beverage operations. According to him, one of his major accomplishments was being able to generate $52M to $55M annually from food and beverage revenue alone.
After the pandemic, he received an offer to join Hyatt Regency Saipan.
Delemarle said that the hotel is an iconic establishment for the whole of the CNMI as it is the first ever international brand on the island and the management was looking for a talent who can look at the hotel in a new perspective. “I was up for the challenge. I came to Saipan because I believe that the island in the next few years is going to bloom again.”
“I am excited for the new experiences that Hyatt Regency Saipan will offer in the next months and years to come, the local community has been supporting us for a long time and it is time we give back” he added.
