THE Blue Jays continue their climb up the 2025 Saipan Baseball League leaderboard with their third win of the season, a dominant 21-4 triumph over the Orioles on Monday night at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field.

Both teams got off to an energetic start, packing the opening inning with nail-biting moments.

The Blue Jays stumbled early, earning two outs by the time their fourth batter stepped up. But they managed to capitalize on well-timed errors, allowing runners to advance. Frankie Lieto’s RBI single plated Davie Matagolai before the inning came to a close.

The Orioles answered with a stronger start. Leadoff batter Verlance Secharmidal hit a single and later rounded the bases on a fielder’s choice to tie the game at 1–1 in the bottom half of the inning.

In the second inning, however, the Blue Jays took control with a batting rampage.

It began with a single from Terrel Rabago, who was brought home by James Salalila’s RBI single. A series of hits and fielding errors followed, with Mark Villagomez and Spencer Dickenson contributing an RBI single and RBI double, respectively. The Blue Jays rallied for eight runs in the inning to build a commanding 9–1 lead.

The Orioles responded with two runs, both scored off errors, narrowing the gap to 9–3 after two innings.

After a pitching change, the Orioles managed to hold off the Blue Jays in the third inning, but were also held scoreless themselves.

The Blue Jays surged again in the fourth, adding four runs, highlighted by Villagomez’s two-RBI single, to push the lead into double digits at 13–3.

In the fifth, the Blue Jays looked to seal the deal, pouring on eight more runs in the top half of the inning to extend the deficit to 21–3.

With the 10-run mercy rule in effect, the Orioles needed a strong bottom half to keep the game alive. They managed to score one run but couldn’t generate a full comeback. The Blue Jays recorded the final three outs, ending the game after five innings.
