(MANGO) — Since October 2020, the Marianas Alliance of Non-Governmental Organizations has doubled its membership from 29 organizations and individuals to 58. “This is a great achievement given that one of our goals is to provide training and support to CNMI nonprofits so they can improve their delivery of services and programs,” said Maisie Tenorio, MANGO chairwoman.
“I wanted to express my gratitude and appreciation for the Lemmai-Mei Project and your contributions to the 6-session incubator training program,” said Jared Inselmann, Rota Island Specialty Crop Association or RISCA treasurer. “It was an excellent collection of materials and the training and facilitation were very well executed. Great job! I have enjoyed sharing your guidance and leading practices with RISCA and the Rota community,” added Inselmann.
The Lemmai-Mei Nonprofit Incubator Project is one of MANGO’s initiatives that is already reaping benefits for the first cohort that participated. The board of directors for Northern Marianas Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence have conducted a self-review. They will also begin work on a strategic plan. 500 Sails also formed an ad hoc committee and began work on their five-year strategic plan.
MANGO is also conducting another community outreach workshop for the month of June. The Board of directors workshop provides in-depth information on the roles and responsibilities of the board of directors. This free workshop is scheduled for Thursday, June 24, 2021, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Registration is being accepted at: https://forms.gle/P4fDwdzDq9bYNDxo6. Seating is limited for in-person participation.
Membership is free to join MANGO this year, and any nonprofit or individual may join to receive technical assistance and training in setting up the nonprofit and becoming more sustainable as an organization. More information is available on our website mangocnmi.org or call the MANGO office at 233-6200.
