(Press Release) — NOAA Fisheries and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service have extended the public comment period for the draft management plan and environmental assessment for the Marianas Trench Marine National Monument.
The comment period will be open for an additional 60 calendar days, to close on or about July 26. The exact comment period end date will be posted to the NOAA Fisheries website when the notice is published in the Federal Register, on or about May 24.
NOAA Fisheries and U.S Fish and Wildlife Service are hosting four virtual meetings in June to provide community-focused opportunities for anyone interested in learning more about the draft plan.
NOAA Fisheries and USFWS staff will be available to answer questions regarding the plan during these informational meetings. All four meetings will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. ChST. Participants can attend virtually or via phone, as follows:

Public comments on the draft management plan and environmental assessment can be submitted in two ways:

All public comments must be submitted or postmarked no later than tentatively July 26, 2021. The final comment end date will be updated when the Federal Register notice is published on about May 24.
