THE Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. is offering incentives for those who will receive their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine by this Saturday, June 5.
Community members have a chance to win either a one-night stay with breakfast for two persons at Kensington Hotel Saipan, or two golf vouchers for 18-hole rounds at Coral Ocean Golf Resort.
The names will be drawn in a raffle on Monday, June 7.
As for the 12- to 17-year-olds who complete their two-dose vaccination, each will receive gift bags.
“We want to urge individuals to continue to keep CNMI safe,” said CHCC Chief Executive Officer Esther L. Muna on Friday.
As of Sunday, May 30, 55% of the eligible population in the CNMI, or 23,152 individuals, had been fully vaccinated — 19,775 received the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine; 3,095, the Moderna vaccine; and 282, the Johnson & Johnson/Janssen vaccine.
No 12- to 15-year-olds have been fully vaccinated.
CHCC said 25,848 individuals have received their first dose, of whom 21,994 received the Pfizer vaccine and 3,854 the Moderna vaccine.
CHCC added that 1,309 12- to 17-year-olds and 24,881 individuals 18 years of age or older have received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Since March 28, 2020, the CNMI has recorded a total of 183 positive Covid-19 cases.
Of the 183, 147 were identified through travel screening, 90 of whom originated from the U.S., 37 from a U.S. territory, and 20 from a foreign country.
Thirty-six of the 183 were identified through community screening, 11 through community-based testing or at CHCC, and 25 through contact tracing.
The community is encouraged to continue practicing the 3 Ws: Wash your hands, wear your mask, and watch your distance.
“I want to remind everyone that the infection risk has not gone down, so if you have not been fully vaccinated, the infection risk is still there…. We are urging everyone to [get vaccinated],” Muna said.
“This is really important for our community. It’s not just about normalcy; it’s about protecting each other.”
For those who have yet to receive their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, they are encouraged to register to get vaccinated by visiting www.vaccinatecnmi.com or calling 682-SHOT (7468).
