Redmen trounce Mommy Charu in softball

THE Redmen pummeled Mommy Charu  18-2 after just three innings in a game of the Belau Amateur Softball League on Sunday  at the Dandan baseball field.

Mommy Charu seemed to have the upper hand at first, silencing the Redmen  in the first inning with three quick outs while adding two runs at the bottom half thanks to Myron and Lee who earned an RBI each.

However, Mommy Charu’s reign was short-lived as the Redmen  found their rhythm in the second inning.

The Redmen filled the bases as JD brought Henry in while Mark and Mike  earned an RBI each to give their team the lead, 3-2.

Mommy Charu tried to stay in the game but its players could not get through the Redmen’s defense.

The Redmen then unleashed a ferocious offensive that resulted in 15 runs. These were followed by David Attao’s grandslam that extended the gap 18-2.

At this point, the mercy rule was invoked and the Redmen claimed a well deserved victory that moved them closer to the playoffs.

Man Amigos vs IPI Masters

The Man Amigos, for their part, had to stage a rally to overcome the IPI Masters.

The IPI Masters started the opening inning with a big bang and scored 10 runs. MC led the assault with a total of 4 RBI’s.

However, that was the IPI Masters’ only time in the spotlight as the Man Amigos, slowly but surely,  took over the remainder of the game.

At the bottom of the first inning, the Man Amigos bagged two runs and these were followed by five more by the end of the third inning to reduce the deficit, 7-10.

At the bottom of the fifth, the Man Amigos led by Pete delivered six more runs to take over the lead and then dropped six more at the bottom of the fifth for an impressive 19-10 victory.
