BRILLIANT Star School and Saipan International School and are off to a strong start in the Public School System All School Track & Field Championships as students Moshe Sikkel and Jude Rayphand showcased their speed in their respective age categories in the boys division on Tuesday at the Oleai Sports Complex.
The 12-and-under age group was ruled by Brilliant Star School thanks to Moshe Sikkel.
In the 60M distance, Sikkel outran the competition with a time of 08:06. Schoolmate Aiden Camacho followed behind at 08:85 while Kagman Elementary School’s Tatum Jones was third at 10:81.
Sikkel continued to shine in the 200M sprint, clocking in at 30:33 with Camacho trailing closely at 31:63.
Sikkel also reigned in the 800M distance as he took first place with a finish time of 02:36:35 beating his only challenger, Danny Cheng from Agape Christian School, who settled for second place with a time of 02:55:99.
Domination
For his part, Saipan International School’s Jude Rayphand dominated the U9 age group.
He topped the 60M race with a time of 10:16 followed by KagES’ Jayvon Dela Cruz at 10:63 and schoolmate Ashton Manalo at 11:45.
Rayphand also finished first in the 200M race clocking in at 36:66 while KagES’ Dela Cruz (41:12) and Manalo (41:66) were second and third.
SIS continued to climb the boards with Rayphand’s third top finish, blasting through the 800M distance with a time of 03:30:74.
Brilliant Star School’s Evan Poole was second with a time of 03:35:13 while SIS’ Walsh was third at 03:54:41.
