Who will be the next Liberation Queen? Coronation night this Wednesday, July 2

(Liberation Day Committee) — The public is cordially invited to attend the Coronation Night of the 2025 Liberation Day Royal Court on Wednesday, July 2 at 7 p.m. at the Festival Grounds in Civic Center, Susupe. This year’s impressive roster of candidates proudly represents the three major islands of the CNMI: Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.

Saipan Mayor Ramon “RB” Camacho shared his excitement ahead of the crowning, hinting at a friendly competition among the islands. “It is a special opportunity for us, as CNMI mayors, to stand together in support of our youth and our culture. I encourage everyone to join us for an evening of honor, connection, and celebration,” he said.

Candidates Pritzel Carreon, Teresita A. Diaz, Debbiann Marjorie R. Selepeo, Aunika Julie’Ann M. Camacho, and Kaypeonie Marie Mendiola have actively participated in public appearances and community events since their official pinning ceremony last April. They also led this year’s fundraising efforts by selling raffle tickets.

The titles of Liberation Queen, Royal Princess, First Runner-up, and Princesses will be awarded based on the total net raffle ticket sales attributed to each candidate, their families, and sponsors. In recognition of their efforts, each candidate will also receive 10% of the total funds they raised.

For the first time in coronation history, two special awards will also be presented: the People’s Choice Award, based on a recently concluded social media popularity voting; and the Mayor’s Citizenship Award, chosen personally by Mayor Camacho, recognizing a candidate who demonstrated exemplary behavior and community involvement.

Royal Court Chair & Liberation Day Committee Vice Chairwoman Bridget Maratita-Deleon Guerrero expressed heartfelt pride in the candidates’ journeys. “Whoever takes home the crown, I know each of them has shown remarkable growth, strength, and grace. It has been an honor to witness their transformation, not just as candidates, but as confident ambassadors of our islands,” she said.

The Liberation Day Festivities continue this week through Sunday, July 6, at the Civic Center in Susupe, Saipan. Bring your family and friends to enjoy a weekend celebrating heritage, community pride, and women’s empowerment. Come be part of this joyful celebration and support the candidates who have worked tirelessly to represent our islands.
