THE Japanese Society of the Northern Mariana Islands is pleased to announce two major upcoming events celebrating culture, friendship, and remembrance.
The annual Japanese Autumn Festival will be held on Saturday, October 25, at the Garapan Fishing Base. This year’s festival holds special significance as it will also commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, honoring peace and the continued friendship between Japan and the Northern Mariana Islands. The event will feature cultural performances, food booths, and community activities for all ages.
Following the festival, the 2025 Japanese Society of the NMI Friendship Golf Classic will take place on Saturday, November 8, at LaoLao Bay Golf Resort. This friendly tournament brings together members of the local and international community in the spirit of goodwill and collaboration.
The Japanese Society is currently seeking sponsors to support both events. Sponsorship opportunities are available at various levels, and all support will go directly toward cultural outreach, community engagement, and educational programs.
“We also invite performers, musicians, dancers, and other entertainers whose acts showcase Japanese culture or themes to volunteer for one or both events,” the Society said. “Please note that performances should be culturally appropriate and related to Japan — such as Japanese songs, traditional dance, or anime-themed costumes.”
