All was going well for team Taga Security during the first quarter of the game. They were able to manage the lead by 13 points after Sonny Ebuen scored 6 points followed by Arman Anasan’s 5 points and finally reinforce by their teammates’ jump shots to secure the lead safely in their pockets, 25-13.
Team Easy Does it was able to snip the 13 point lead down to a flimsy two point lead during the second quarter. Joel Bumag was able to card two jump shots followed by a downtown shot to collect 7 points throughout the quarter.
Teammates Butch Vergara and George Villasan each contributed 5 points a piece to catch up to Taga Security.
By half time Easy Does it was only behind by two points, 36-34.
Both teams entered the second half of the bout fiercely but Taga Security refused to let up against Easy Does It.
Adonis Macoto scored a whopping 11 points in his major effort to strengthen the weak two point lead made during the first half of the game. By the end of the quarter, Taga Security widened the gap to a more secure 5 point lead, 55-50.
It all came down to the final quarter was Easy Does It achieved a come from behind win against Taga Security. Both teams were tied at 66 points all after Easy Does It breached past Taga Security’s defense line to game up towards their lead.
But Easy Does It yanked the lead from Taga Security after team player Greg Kobel was fouled on his way down to the free throw line and was given two charity opportunities, one of which he sunk in perfectly to steal the lead away from his foes.
Kobel then secured their lead with a jump shot to advance once more in the last seconds of the game. It was a perfect play and the cards turned out to be in their favor after Kobel’s teammate Joel Bumag was fouled. Bumag successfully connected another charity shot to secure the win and manage a come from behind win against Taga Security, 70-68.
