MMC’s new clinic opens today

On Friday, CNMI officials, representatives of various medical service providers and members of the community gathered  for the new clinic’s ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Marianas Medical Center owner/director Dr. Tony Stearns said it has been their long time dream to provide the community with more spacious facilities and state of the art equipment.

“We are very happy that finally, we can serve our clients in a bigger and better clinic,” he said.

Gov. Benigno R. Fitial, in his message, said  he wants to see MMC provide more years of service to the community.

The governor said  he is happy to hear of establishments that take care of the people’s health.

“It is also always nice to hear of businesses opening up on island,” he added.

Public Health Secretary Joseph Kevin Villagomez said MMC’s efforts in providing health care services to the people help the Department of Public Health.

The new MMC clinic houses a pediatric room, five examination rooms, an ultrasound room, an X-ray room and a spacious and comfortable reception area.

It offers a full range of general family services such as pregnancy care and delivery, infancy and child care, common ailments of children and adults such as flu, colds, various laboratory testing, and non-communicable diseases like diabetes and hypertension.
