Man arrested for punching, kicking girlfriend

Harry Conrad Conley was charged with disturbing the peace, and assault and battery relating to domestic violence.

Superior Court Associate Judge David A. Wiseman allowed Conley to pay $500 cash, representing 10 percent of the $5,000 bail the court earlier imposed, and  post  a $4,500 unsecured or appearance bond.

Wiseman granted the oral motion of Conley’s defense counsel, Assistant Public Defender Michael Brown, to reduce bail.

Assistant Attorney General Eli Golob is prosecuting the case.

Conley was directed by the judge not to have any contact with his victim, Hoshiba Sachiyo.

Detective Buddy Igitol said DPS, after receiving a call on Dec. 3, at about 5:42 p.m., dispatched officers to the Medical Associates of Pacific Clinic in Puerto Rico regarding a domestic violence incident.

Police said Sachiyo was beaten up by her boyfriend Conley at their residence in As Lito.

After Conley left their residence, Sachiyo called her office. It was the victim’s office that called the police.

Police said the victim suffered multiple injuries on her face: her upper and lower lips were swollen and purple, she had a swollen left ear and laceration underneath her left eye.

“Sachiyo appeared very upset and afraid,” Igitol quoted the first responding officers as saying.

Investigation showed that an “argument ensued when Sachiyo learned Conley had used up all their money.”

Conley accused Sachiyo of having an affair, and began calling her names, police said.

Sachiyo pleaded Conley to stop saying those things to her, police added.

But instead of calming down, Conley became angrier and, using both hands, began punching and kicking Sachiyo on the face and body, police said.

The incident was discovered by the victim’s co-employees after she called to cancel her appointment for that day.
