The Palaus bested team VFW ToroKeyRee last week Tuesday, winning 5-2 at the USS Peleliu Club. ToroKeyRee’s Wilfred Camacho overcame Ron Chisato in the first singles match, sweeping him at the tiebreaker round. Arnel Orbita and Mei Rengiil tallied two points for the Palaus after beating Jean B. and Mike Sablan, respectively.
After taking a win from Jimmy Wang, the ToroKeyRees couldn’t help but crumble in the last couple matches.
Chisato partnered with Anni to win their doubles game. Rengiil played with teammate Taylor Watanabe to knock down Jean B. and Simon Kapileo.
The Fotten Palaus have won 59 of 119 games for a 49.6 percent win-rate.
Who-Oah 5, Shark Attack 2
The D’Pirates Who-Oahs, currently second in the Obyan Division, also celebrated their 5-2 win last Tuesday against the Wild Bill’s Shark Attacks.
The Shark Attacks started strong when Ben Norita won over Who-Oah’s Joe Villagomez. The tables turned however, as Who-Oah’s Tero and Ray Takai launched consecutive wins against Jerry and Nong Detdon. Despite losing his singles match, Shark Attack’s Joey Cruz returned in the doubles round with Randy Sablan to beat Patrick Taitano and Jerry. Ray Takai and Ed Suzuki marked Who-Oah’s fifth point afterward.
The Shark Attacks rank third in the Obyan Division with 48 wins. The Who-Oahs are right above them at 54 wins.
Hustlers 6, Pirates 1
Meanwhile, the Utopia NTT Docomo Hustlers continued their rule in the Agingan Division. They prevailed 6-1 against team D’Pirates Team Pirates last week, improving their record to 85 wins, 34 losses, and a 71.4 percent win-rate.
The Pirates hailed their only victory from Bert Refugio, who outlasted Jomer Enriquez. Refugio was in control at game one but lost his edge at game two, bringing the game to a tiebreaker.
Enriquez fought back in the doubles round with partner Joey Lucido, beating James R. and Refugio. Other singles winners were Jerry Soriano, Senen Pangilinan, Rowel Mariano, and Erwin Gomez, who returned for a doubles game with Robert Sanciangco.
Incredibles 7, Turtles 0
Holding their fragile spot behind the Hustlers are the Buddies IT&E Incredibles, who swept team USSP Turtles 7-0 last Tuesday.
The Turtles couldn’t eke out a win and fell one by one to Dean Borja, Chester Cuento, and Brian Nelvis. Turtles’ Leo Sablan and Ken Philip forced both Borja and Cuento into tiebreakers but eventually lost. Also in the singles round were Incredibles’ Mark Butac and Chester Hamoy, who later teamed up with Eric Caisip and Borja.
With 77 wins and 42 losses, the Incredibles are slightly ahead of team Jonny’s IT&E Voyagers. Tonight’s last series of regular season games will determine which of both teams will take the number two spot.
Voyager 4, Home Boyz 3
The Voyagers fought it out with team Jonny’s Home Boyz in a recent match, with the former snatching four of seven games.
Voyager’s Rolly Villanueva made his first win over Nolan Cultura before moving up to the doubles round with RJ Masacarinas. They defeated Home Boyz’ Franz De Luna and Juancho Mendoza. Mendoza caught Voyager’s Jojo Talibong off guard earlier, and crushed him in the tiebreaker round. Mascarinas took on De Luna in a singles game while Rey Pinangay faced Home Boyz’ Primo Ferrera.
The Home Boyz scored their last two victories from Mario Diola and Cultura.
Tonight will mark the league’s 18th and final week of the regular season. Scheduled matches feature:

Jonny’s IT&E Voyagers vs. Wild Bill’s Shark Attacks,
