They finished the 13.7-mile course with the fastest time of one hour, 29 minutes, and 10 seconds while teams Cheetohs (1:29:20) and Pinoy Runners (1:31:06) placed second and third, respectively.
The Cheetohs consisted of Todd Montgomery, Melody Matson, Terra Allen, Scott Hayden, and Yosh Gabaldon.
Matson was the first to reach the fifth exchange zone, located near the 13 Fisherman Momunent at Garapan.. Her teammates continued their lead at the Sadog Tasi traffic light intersection across Mobil gas station, until the Mami’s Boys caught up in the last couple miles of the race.
Pinoy Runners’ Butch Sublemente, Cesar Danao, Ronald Villafria, Florence Antonio, and Nap Dizon arrived nearly two minutes after the Cheetohs.
A total of 12 groups took part in the annual event, which started from Pacific Islands Club’s south parking lot to the Last Command Post at Marpi. Runners navigated their way through 12 different exchange zones throughout the race.
Following the Pinoy Runners at the finish line was team Jupiter, made up of Rachel Zuercher, Aric Bickel, Steve Gardiner, Amber Goguen, and Max Simoan. They timed in at 1:33:37.
Team Cultura Athletics dominated the 18-and-under division, setting a new record with one hour, 33 minute, and 19 seconds. Its members included Beo Ngirchongor, Ryan Ichihara, Michael Mancao, Lia Rangamar, and Douglas Dillay.
MHS Basketball Team’s Lina Manalili, Nardson Ambalan, Ezra Caro, Jim Lacsina, and Greg Duatin placed second at 1:34:21. Coming in at third place was team Last Minute’s Eddie Manalili, Reylynn Sapong, JR Litulumar, Danny Bai, and Joshalyn Flores.
Meanwhile, Keum Bae Ji topped the solo category’s male division at one hour, 41 minutes, and 10 seconds. Noriko Jim was the first female finisher with 1:52:20. Other individual runners following them were Chad Lowe (1:54:33), Shimizu Yasuhi (2:06:32), Michael Towle (2:06:51), June Evangelista (2:08:38), Roy Ortizo (2:12:51), and Alexander Racoma (2:13:27).
