The Korean Football Association of Saipan didn’t stand a chance against the Godfathers’, losing 4-2. Godfather’s Shunji Nagayasu scored his first point in the 24th minute before both teams reached a 1-1 tie. Joining him in the offense were Cho Jin Koo and Young Ha Hwang.
The Inter Godfather’s had the upper hand by the 51st and 56th minute, thanks to two more points from Chris Nelson. Time was running out for the KFAS, who scored their second point in the 72nd minute. The Godfather’s secured their championship seat as Matthew Holley marked their final goal of the day.
MP United then followed up in the second game, beating the Wild Bills 4-2. The latter had a good start as Thoensaket struck a goal in the second minute. It wasn’t long before MP United’s Joe LeVahn tied the game 1-1 and pushed for a two-point lead in the second half. Another goal from Tiger Lee in the 64th minute soon brought MP United its fourth point. Both Andrew Moses and Greg Borja made last minute substations with Wood and Greg Elliot before the Wild Bills tallied its second point from Thoensaket.
Teams Godfather’s and MP United Football Club will battle it out in this Sunday’s finals, with the KFAS and Wild Bills fighting for third place.
Baek Du San routs Independent FC
Facing Paire Football Club on Thursday is Baek Du San – Guangdong, who routed the Independent Football Club 4-2 last week.
IFC’s Young Sin Lim slipped one goal apiece in the first and second half, but was overwhelmed by BDS’ Sheng Qiu Yin and Gwang Sik Kim. The match eventually turned to Baek Du San’s favor as Heng Guo Piao and Hak Soo Lee lunged for two points in the 44th and 53rd minutes.
