Team Exclusive yanked the driver’s seat of the game from the Undertakers after team players Richard Alejandro and Roy Miguel scored 6 points and 4 points respectively. The Exclusives were able to slip past the Undertakers defense line and snatched the lead by two points by the end of the first quarter, 12-10.
As the second quarter rolled in lazily, the Exclusives stepped it up a notch and team player John Pepito bucketed a whopping 9 point rally throughout the quarter in his attempt to widen the gap made in the first quarter.
Miguel jumped into the band wagon and collared another four pence towards the Exclusive’s side of the scoreboard.
By the bottom of the second quarter the Exclusives managed to widen the gap to one more point that went a long way.
By half time the Exclusives firmly gripped the upper hand of the game by three points, 31-28.
Both teams entered the second half of the bout with one common goal in mind; hand the opposing team the upset part of the game.
The Undertakers finally got their act together and they started dominating the quarter with an amazing connection to basket ratio.
John Deleon Guerrero and George Villasan connected the ball to the basket numerous times to score 6 points a piece throughout the third quarter with an amazing rally and power behind their shots while Joel Buniag contributed his 4 points to help the Undertakers snatch a come from behind lead over the Exclusives.
The Undertakers then formed an immovable defense barrier against the Exclusives but the Exclusives refused to go down without a fight. Miguel and Romeo Beterina each breached past this defense line to score 5 points a piece to keep the Undertakers at bay.
By the time the siren rang to shut the third quarter shut, the Undertakers were leading by 4 secure points, 54-50.
Both teams entered the fourth quarter with high spirits but fatigue got the better part of the Exclusives. The Undertakers took no time for remorse for the Exclusives. Instead, they took advantage over their foes’ momentary weariness.
Deleon Guerrero and Dave Demapan each grabbed 8 points a piece in the final quarter for the Undertakers whilst their teammates scored a total of 7 points to secure the win away from the Exclusives, 77-64.
