MHS vice principal Cherlyn Cabrera said the project is just one of the many planned for the school.
Cabrera said the school hopes to get more members of the community, parents and especially MHS alumni involved.
MHS has very old facilities some of which are already cracking and splitting at unsafe levels.
This is why the Marianas High School Community Council launched the project which aims to reconstruct damaged sidewalks and student drop-off zones to create a safer environment on campus.
The donors to date are:
– Bobbie Torres & children
– Mr. Brian Jones
– Congressman Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan
– The Northern Marianas Football Association
– The Northern Mariana Islands Badminton Association
The council’s intention is for members of the community, parents, and alumni of MHS to work together to revitalize the community through projects like this.
The council is headed by Laila Younis-Boyer and attorney Teresa Kim-Tenorio.
If anyone would like to be a member of the council call Younis-Boyer at 234-9272 or Kim-Tenorio at 664-2200 for more information.
