Koror State welcomes visitors at airport

Gail Rengiil, head of Koror State Finance Department, said more than 200 passengers coming to Palau were given leis and pins by the Koror youths.

Rengiil said the first 50 passengers were given flower leis, and the succeeding passengers received pins.

This was the first time that the Koror State Government held a welcoming activity at the airport.

She said every year the KSG is conducting different activities as part of the Koror Constitution Day celebration.

Three young boys and girls from Koror hamlets wearing traditional costumes welcomed the visitors by handing leis and pins.

The one-day activity started at 7:45 in the morning and concluded at 9:00 in the evening.

Oct. 21 was the 27th Koror Constitution Day. However, the celebration was observed on Oct. 22 through a holiday.

All offices of the KSG were closed except the Koror State Rangers in Malakal.

The KSG Constitution was founded on Oct. 21, 1983.
