At San Antonio Elementary School, Theresa Barro received the teacher of the year award.
She has been with SAES for 18 years now and there is no question that she loves to teach and enjoys working with children.
Her passion for teaching is what motivates her, and is something she believes that all great teachers have.
Teaching brings her an incredible feeling of satisfaction knowing she is contributing positively to the future of the children.
She is a committed teacher. She goes above and beyond the time required of a typical teacher.
At Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School, the award went to Raena S. Bermudes who was also named as the overall Public School System’s teacher of the year.
She manifests what exemplary teachers have in common: a passion for teaching and a genuine care for students
Not only does she impart academic knowledge to her students, she also shares valuable teaching tools and skills for future teachers as a mentor teacher for Northern Marianas College’s School of Education.
At Kagman High School, Josepha Kaipat received the award for teacher of the year.
Described as a spunky, highly educated, highly motivated, and successful Carolinian woman, she completed her master’s degree last March.
She said she was very honored to have received an award.
She makes learning fun and accessible to every person who walks into the classroom.
Marianas High School’s teacher of the year is Victoria Saures. She is an excellent educator, providing a positive learning environment for students to succeed.
Saipan Southern High School honored Dora Miura as its teacher of the year. Miura has been working for PSS for the past 10 years. She received her bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University, her master’s degree from the University of Hawaii, and is currently working on her doctorate.
