Cape Air vows better service in 6 months

During the presentation of a House commemorative resolution at the Francisco C. Ada/Saipan International Airport, Cape Air chief operating officer Dave Bushy assured House Floor Leader George N. Camacho, Ind.-Saipan, and Rep. Teresita A. Santos, Ind.-Rota, that  they will further enhance their passenger services when they resume their operation in April.

The suspension of Cape Air’s flights in the CNMI took effect last Oct. 4. The airline said it has to conduct regular maintenance of its aircraft.

Santos, in an interview yesterday, said although the six-month  absence of Cape Air flights will affect CNMI tourism, especially Rota, it will also mean safer and more reliable passenger services six months from now.

Cape Air, Santos noted, supported many events on Rota during the past six years.

These events and project included the Manamko’ Month, Christmas events, book drives for Sinapalo Elementary School and Grace Christian Academy, the annual San Francisco De Borja and San Isidro festivals, Easter Hunt and other annual community events.

The House of Representatives and the people of the CNMI, the resolution stated, express gratitude to Cape Air for providing superior passenger service and community support to the islands, particularly on Rota.

Bushy, for his part, thanked the lawmakers.
