San Vicente school announces nominees

Being with her for the past few years, her colleague observed her as an enthusiastic teacher.

Students look forward to coming to her class because of the hands-on-activities, cooperative grouping, demonstrations and the generic skills like problem solving, communication, teamwork and higher thinking skills, or HOTS, she plans.

She could maintain a well-organized, well-supervised class, busily going about in the different learning activities, whether it is individually, by partners, or by group.

As an advocate of constructivist instruction, she allows flexibility and freedom to provide a positive and student-centered environment, so that they could create their own meaning by acting and doing, rather than listening and repeating.

A soft-spoken person her approach to student is firm and geared toward the attainment of self-discipline, self-respect, and alleviating self-esteem.

Her commitment to students is manifested in her participation in the Child Study Team, IEP, Staff meetings, PTA treasurer, SCBMC member, Grade Level Rep, Peer Support Network Coordinator, and workshops conducted by both San Vicente Elementary School and PSS.

Marsha Arriola has been a school counselor at San Vicente Elementary for the past nine years.

Mrs. Arriola is truly an asset to our school.  Her dedication is manifested on the weekly classroom presentation on Character Education such as, PEACE Builder, Mega skills and Virtue that  helps students develop their self-esteem.

Mrs. Arriola facilitates the Child Study Team meetings and works closely with the classroom teachers in monitoring student’s intervention action plan that the team developed during the initial CST meeting.   She also provides one-on-one counseling services for students that demonstrate emotional issues which disrupt learning in the classroom and at home.

Mrs. Arriola is also actively involved in planning and facilitating the Project Familia, Family Literacy Program, After School Reading Intervention Program, SVES Science Summer Camp, Accreditation Focus Group Committee Chair, School Community Base Management Council and once a school PTA treasurer.

Stephanie Deleon Guerrero has been a CCLHS teacher aide at San Vicente Elementary School for the past three years.  She is assigned to teach in fifth grade.  Miss  Deleon Guerrero is really an asset to San Vicente Elementary School.  Her commitment and dedication is manifested in her participation in grade level meeting with her team to ensure that she plans a meaningful and exciting learning experience for her students.

Miss Deleon Guerrero not only serves as a CCLHS teacher aide but also actively involved in the extracurricular activity such as the after school arts and crafts, Art work for Parade of Books, Teacher Appreciation Day, Paseo De Marianas Christmas Tree Decoration Contest, Christmas Program, CCLHS PGFC and Parent Literacy Night etc.  Ms. Deleon Guerrero volunteered in numerous school events as well.

Magnetti Isamu is the Building Maintenance at San Vicente Elementary School for the past couple of years.  Mr. Isamu is really an asset to SVES.  He is a very hard working individual that requires very minimal supervision.  Mr. Isamu not only maintains the building safety at the school campus, but he is always extending his help to his colleagues as well.

Mr. Isamu is very dependable that the entire staff at SVES is comfortable working with him.  Although his not required supervising students on campus, he always keep an eye on our students during the day to ensure safety on campus.

Mr. Isamu volunteers to assist on most of the school’s events, such as preparation before or clean up after his regular working hours.
