Jinfang Zhang, also known as “Friend,” was arrested in the southern parking lot of the Afetnas Square in San Antonio by members of the Drug Enforcement Task Force and detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Bureau.
DPS spokesman Sgt. Thomas A. Blas Jr. said Superior Court Associate Judge David A. Wiseman signed and authorized an eavesdropping search warrant on Oct. 25, 2010 to record the drug activities of Zhang.
After her arrest, Drug Enforcement Task Force members searched Zhang’s room at the Sablan Construction barracks in San Antonio.
“Drug paraphernalia and an unknown substance suspected to be ‘ice’ were procured from inside her room,” Blas said.
Zhang was taken to the Department of Corrections where she was booked and detained on the charges of illegal possession and trafficking of a controlled substance.
The next day Zhang appeared in court for her probable cause hearing, Blas said.
