Snorre Overeng’s dream came true, he joined the other PADI Diving Society Group recently in Palau for a diving adventure.
Snoore not only was able to dive in his dream place but he also obtained a National Geographic diver certification.
Frank Johannessen, a companion of Snoore said as a National Geographic diver can also map out the living ocean during dives.
Snoore was also given the Blue Corner specialty certification.
He said that he learned of Palau from television, the Pacific Abyss documentary.
“This is the first time I dove in Palau. I fell in love with the island and the water,” Snoore said.
Snoore started diving in 2003 and has doved in Thailand, Egypt , Turkey , Norway and Cyprus.
“I have always loved the water. It is a place where I can be myself. A place where I can be like everybody else without thinking about the wheelchair,” Snoore stated.
He said his situation did not prevent him from living his life.
“Diving makes me feel very free,” he added.
Snoore was also able to swim at the Jellyfish Lake and dive at Blue Corner, German Channel, Turtle Cove and Peleliu Wall among others.
