Fire Chief Thomas M. Manglona has requested that on Oct. 4, all U.S. and CNMI flags are flown at half-mast to coincide with this special event.
The late Firefighter Dela Cruz’s wife and children will be attending the special ceremony.
Manglona said: “Let it be known that although this will be a somber moment for his wife, children and parents — we have not forgotten, and we will not forget, his contributions to the Department of Public Safety, Fire Division, and the CNMI.”
The late Firefighter Dela Cruz was honorably mentioned during the Police Week in May 2010 but an official honorary memorial will be given this October during the National Fire Prevention Week in the CNMI.
