Ben Borja, a former director of DPS on Tinian, filed the complaint against PO3 Barbara K. Arend last July.
“Why is it that if it’s an ordinary government employee caught misusing a government vehicle, that person is immediately persecuted?” he asked.
Borja said he just wants to stop irregularities in the government.
Tinian DPS Resident Director Ramon Pangelinan said the complaint is now with the department’s internal affairs.
He said the results of their investigation and gathering of information were submitted to internal affairs.
“Everybody is very careful now in using a government-owned car,” he told Variety.
DPS Tinian has not received any new complaint of misuse of government car, he said.
Borja alleged that Arned used the police car while shopping at one of the grocery stores on Tinian.
Arend declined to comment.
