According to the report 15 betelnut trees were destroyed by a fire extinguisher.
Police investigation showed, at around 2:18 p.m. on August 23, Raymon Barao, US Embassy employee, called the police and reported that unknown individuals went to Francis Matsutaro’s residence rented by Panos.
Suspect stole betelnut worth less than $50 and destroyed fire extinguisher.
The case is pending for further police probe.
Meanwhile on the same day, at around 6:11 p.m. Toshikatsu Baules, male, adult-Palauan called the police and reported that his neighbor Omar Takada stole his several betelnuts at the back of his residence in Ngerusar, Airai State.
Based on the police report, suspect went at the back of victim’s residence and harvested betelnuts. One of Baules neighbors saw the suspect and confronted him.
Suspect then fled immediately upon arrival of the police officers.
The case is under investigation.
