Letter to the Editor: Vote wisely this time

We’re abusing the system that was created to help us exercise our voting rights. In doing so, we might vote for the wrong person again, like in the last election. Remember the eight dark days of CNMI government plus the 16-hour work cut for government employees. The eight-day shutdown of the government plus the 16-hour cut on the government employees happened because the voters who voted for friends, relatives, uncles, friends of uncles, relatives, fathers, mothers, nephews, nieces, instead of voting a person who could work for CNMI.

I have been here on Saipan since the naval administration and every election we always vote the same uncles, relatives and so on. Now let’s vote for someone who will not go to U.S. Congress and start receiving his daily assignment from our local government but instead will get his assignment from the  CNMI citizens.

Remember the last time you voted, the government shutdown for eight days and imposes a 16-hour cut. Forget the party line, that’s what you did last time and the CNMI suffered. Stand up and look around, maybe the solution is on the other side.

There are only two candidates who can help the CNMI from falling off the cliff: Gregorio Kilili Sablan and Jesus Jesse Borja. You chose which of the two. I am voting for Kilili.
