The swearing-in ceremony took place in the cabinet room and was attended by the vice president’s wife Shra Alik, members of the executive cabinet, National Election Office staff and members of the Welly family.
Vice President Alik expressed his appreciation to Welly for accepting the nomination.
“On behalf of President Manny Mori and the family of the FSM government, we congratulate you and wish you the best in your new assignment,” the vice president said.
Welly thanked the government for his nomination and said he was looking forward to working with the four state election commissioners. “I will do my best to discharge my duties faithfully and impartially,” said Welly.
