They are either practicing a dance presentation for a school program or simply enjoying themselves at a youth get-together.
On Wednesday, students from Marianas High School were at a pavilion to perform what seemed to be unusual dance steps and some sort of a drill.
They had a choreographer who, from time to time, directed them to perform a sequence of steps.
They must be preparing for a performance or a presentation. One of the girls was seen dancing with each of the boys.
It was hard to guess what they were performing so this reporter approached Joanne Oliverio, the group’s makeup and image artist as well as choreographer.
She explained that they were rehearsing for the “debut” party of Rachelle B. Rivera who will turn 18 in November.
In the actual presentation, Oliverio said there will be 36 participants — 18 pairs of boys and girls.
“We call it 18 candles,” Rivera said.
Maria Sandmeier, a friend of Rivera, was so excited to join the celebration.
“I really like and enjoy it,” she said, referring to their presentation.
The group will hold more practices during weekends and after their classes to perfect their performance.
Rivera said her parents are considering to hold the her party either at the Garapan Central Park or at a hotel.
