Koblerville youth center gets boxes of books, educational games

He has been facilitating book and toy donations for the CNMI for almost three years now, and he intends to bring in more donations for the local children.

“I am excited and happy to see children benefit from books. It really touches my heart. I hope this will help enlighten them and advance their education,” he told Variety.

His father Joseph T. Guerrero said it was Congressman Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan who worked with Angelray to help get the book donations.

The other day, Sablan turned over books from the Library of Congress surplus program to Hopwood Jr. High School.

Koblerville Youth Center program coordinator Vernon Lee Manglona expressed his gratitude to Angelray.

“All these resources will help improve our educational program, especially for children with reading problems,” he said.

The center was opened yesterday despite the government shutdown so it could accept the book donations.

Rosa Ada-Hocog, a Koblerville community member, was also thankful for the reading materials donated to the center.

“This is a great help for the children,” she said.

Joseph Guerrero said they are trying get more books for the local children.

The materials that were given yesterday to the center were mostly grammar and spelling books for ages 3 and up, he added.
